Cocktails What
you'll find on this page:
If you are planning on serving cocktails, remember the average drink has 1 oz. of liquor, plus the mixer. If you purchase a quart of liquor you should have enought for 32 drinks. Wine is normally purchased in liter bottles, but for a party consider buying one of the wines available in a box with a built in spout. Don't forget to include non-alcoholic wine and beer. Spanish Lemonade
Remove the peel from three lemons, using a serrated knife or a vegetable peeler.(Do not remove the white pith.)Place sugar in a heavy saucepan. Squeeze the three peeled lemons for juice and strain juice before adding to saucepan. Place over low heat to dissolve the sugar, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool. Slice the remaining three lemons into 1/4" slices. Place slices and sugar mixture in a large glass jug. Add both bottles of wine and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally. Add just the leaves or small springs of mint to the lemonade, stirring well.
Champagne punch
Mix together the liqueur, lime juice and honey in a punch bowl. Add cranberry juice. Chill until ready to serve. Just before serving, add the champagne and carbonated water. Add ice cubes if desired.
Sangria
Combine wine, orange and lime juices and sugar in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add liqueur and chill. Just before serving, add club soda, ice cubes, orange and lime slices.
